So, last night Rajhoman Gandhi (Gandhi’s Grandson) came to speak at Scranton U.  He is a peace and social justice advocate and professor at the U of Illinois.  He spoke about his views on global peace as well as retold stories of his Grandfather!  The room was packed with over 500 people, standing room only!  If I can get the recording I will email it to you, it is defiantly worth a watch.  He easily spoke to politicians, teachers, and students in ways we can poses peace!

I think this is so cool. I’m taking a sign language class and there are tons of videos like this, but this guy is a CODA (child of deaf parents) and his signs are so hard to understand because they’re really out there since he’s been immersed in deaf culture his whole life. He signs things way out of order, but I think his facial expression and the signs he uses are so interesting because it tells the story, not necessarily word for word. He goes to Gallaudet University, which is an almost entirely deaf college, which is also cool. These types of videos help deaf people to know the emotion of the song, how long to hold certain notes/words, and the tempo of the song, which they obviously would never know otherwise.

  4. Thrifted!

Katie, these are some of the pictures some friends and I took for Katlyn’s Thrifted Blog.  The fun we have when scranton is buried in snow for days!

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

This is really embarrassing, but this is a video of my last race ever. I’m still not very good at it but I’ve improved a lot since the beginning - racing is hard! It’s so different than regular skiing. It makes me so sad that it’s over. This has been my life for 4 years and the team is the only reason I stayed at JMU after freshman year. They’re are my rock here, and it’s so scary to think I’ll be starting from scratch in a new place all over again so soon. I’ll be going to regionals this weekend with my team to New York. I won’t be racing, but at least I’ll be there to support em.
